| Goddess Demeter - Teacher of Maternal Love |
In Greek mythology Goddess Demeter is depicted as the goddess of plenty, as the proverbial mother who watches over humankind with her abundance and nurturing. We have captured the essence of maternal love in Demeter with a limited edition original sculpt. Standing 15 3/4’’ tall, with green eyes and caring facial features, she wears a full-length white toga, with fluted green edges delicately accented with gold flecks, which is tied across the bodice with gold braids. Her wardrobe includes a beautiful flowing green satin-hooded cape, which covers her braided golden hair. She also wears gold-laced sandals. Her sheaf of wheat, a symbol of abundance, is tucked under her belt. Demeter doll’s necklace is an emerald green stone on a gold chain. For reference: As an actual woman, she would be approximately 5’5’’ and a size 14.
Mythological Demeter teaches us that there is a maternal instinct within every woman and girl, and that we have the power within us to demonstrate unconditional love.
