FAQS:

How do I choose which doll to buy?
We embolden you to use your intuition and to follow your impulses. Start with the doll that has the most attraction for you or your daughter. Don't second guess yourself. Something within in you will lead you to your choice. You cannot make a wrong decision. You will want to own all three dolls of this limited edition series because each one of the attributes represented by the SophiaDollstm is within you.

The dolls are so beautifully sculpted. Are they just for collectibles?
The first 4,500 dolls are a limited edition, so you may call them a collectible. They are works of art created by a famous artist in Carmel, California. However, the SophiaDollstm were designed to be self-empowerment tools. Our intent is that they will become a part of your everyday life, rather than left in the box or displayed on the shelf.

I'm not really a doll person. How can I be comfortable playing or learning from a doll?
More than a doll or a plaything, the SophiaDollstm serve as a personal empowerment tool by allowing you or your daughter to connect with inner wisdom to guide in expanding and balancing life roles. Visual symbols touch the intuitive part of women and girls to help awaken dormant attributes.

What research has been done on the theory of the personality patterns within?
We have examined extensive research on the theory of personality patterns, or archetypes, from the works of Carl Jung, M.D., to Joseph Campbell, PhD., Jean Bolin, M.D., and Caroline Myss, PhD., to mention a few. An archetype is an idealized model of a person, object or concept from which similar instances are derived, copied, patterned or emulated. In psychology, an archetype is a model of a person, personality or behavior (wikipedia.com). Our definition of a universal model is simple. You are familiar with them every day. You are a mother, sister, daughter, wife, business woman, wise woman, etc. These patterns all live within you.

What do you mean by the term goddess?
The term goddess is and was used in ancient civilizations to describe the personification of behavioral patterns found in all humans. In mythology humans are taught powers and given help in accomplishing the impossible. The assistance to overcome massive obstacles came from Greek gods/goddesses where there was a joint venture between the human and mythological powers. We believe the playful goddess theme encourages the imagination and is utilized to elicit empowerment and self-confidence for girls, while it replaces the hackneyed term, princess. Princess, Queen and empress are figures that have power over others. As a company dedicated to the empowerment of women and girls we chose to use a term that would signify empowerment of self, rather than over others. We at SophiaDollstm believe the term goddess elicits empowerment for women and girls. Moreover, the term princess carries a negative connotation, noted by many mothers as it perpetuates an attitude of dependence, rather than self-confidence, in girls and young women.

How can an inanimate object transform self esteem?
The same way a book or a film can, because information is conveyed to us through mental images. You've heard the old adage, "A picture is worth a thousand words." Before the development of language we received communication through images. We have forgotten the power of images in this information age ruled by technology.

Why did you use such realistic body types, including breasts that have nipples?
Being a sculpted work of art, the artist captured the essence of a woman's body. We are not about every detail of our bodies; we are about healthy body image. Our body images have been distorted for so long that we want to bring back some semblance of the real female body. So much of the beauty of the feminine form has been camouflaged in unrealistic body types as exhibited by some dolls. We chose to honor the varied shapes, sizes and uniqueness of as many women as possible and to provide a healthier visual model for young girls.

How do I use my SophiaDoll? Does she have to be in view all the time to inspire me?
Once you have an understanding of the doll's unique attributes and characteristics, by a single glance, you or your daughter can feel empowered. The visual impact of seeing a body that is more representative of the female population is very empowering and sends the message that I am o.k. as I am. Just as a child is motivated by a picture of a superhero, or an adult is motivated by special memorabilia, the SophiaDollstm serve as a touchstone to trigger the ancient wisdom lying within for instant insights. The dolls help to reinforce what you have just studied and serve as a model to create your or your daughter's definition of beauty.

I want to buy one of these dolls for my daughter. Is that appropriate?
We highly recommend sharing the SophiaDolls for girls ages eight and older. They are to be used as a healthier visual model for our young girls.
